Bank Worker Stole Over £100k

Lesley Smith sent company money in increasingly large amounts directly to her bank own accounts. Charity Shop Closed Fitting Rooms

Saturday, 14th June 2025 at 9:49am According to the Kent Online website, workers at a charity shop have had to close fitting rooms and hide stock, as clothes, shoes and even furniture handles are stolen. Staff at Making a Difference to Maidstone (MADM) described the surge in shoplifting as a “slap in the face”. Shopper Falsely Accused Of Theft

Monday, 16th June 2025 at 8:13am The BBC News website reports that a woman was wrongly accused of shoplifting toilet roll due to an apparent mix-up with a facial recognition system. Danielle Horan was left “fuming” after being ejected from two Home Bargains stores and initially given no explanation. Horan later discovered she was falsely accused of stealing about £10 worth of items after her profile was added to a facial recognition watchlist designed to prevent shoplifting. DPD Employee Jailed

Wednesday, 18th June 2025 at 5:42pm The Northants Police website reports that a former DPD employee has been jailed for stealing parcels containing expensive Apple and Samsung mobile phones. Daniel Kane Carter was arrested and pleaded guilty to one count of theft, and was sentenced to 22 months in prison. A police spokesperson said that Carter’s prison sentence showed that, “crime doesn’t pay and that there are serious consequences if you choose to take something that isn’t yours.” To read the full story, click here. UK’s ‘Kamikaze’ Thieving Epidemic

Sunday, 22nd June 2025 at 5:35pm The Mirror website reports that the UK is in the grip of a wave of ‘Kamikaze’ shoplifting – as brazen thieves snatch goods in plain sight with little fear of consequences. Over half (56%) of retail workers say they’ve witnessed so-called Kamikaze shoplifting – blatant, in-your-face theft. Thief Was ‘Addicted To Spending’

Between November 2021 and March 2024, Ewa Bieniak swindled the business out of £194,509.66.
